Setting Up Phone Numbers for Calls and SMS (Twilio Integration)

Twilio Integration Overview: #

AiXios uses Twilio to power its phone calls and texting. By integrating your Twilio account, you can obtain phone numbers to make calls and send SMS from within AiXios.

Set Up Your Twilio Account: #

If you don’t have a Twilio account yet, go to Twilio.com and sign up for a free account. Upgrade your account when you’re ready to use it in production. From your Twilio Console’s dashboard, note your Account SID and Auth Token. Optionally, in Twilio, you can set up a Subaccount specifically for AiXios usage.

Connect Twilio to AiXios: #

In AiXios, switch to the Agency View and go to Settings > Phone System. Click Update Credentials (or Connect Twilio). Input your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token into the corresponding fields in AiXios. Save the settings and AiXios will indicate that Twilio is connected.

Purchase and Configure a Phone Number: #

Switch back to your sub-account and navigate to Settings > Phone Numbers. Click + Add Number. Enter your country, area code, or city to find a number. Browse the available numbers and select one you like, then click Buy. Configure call forwarding (optional) by clicking Edit on the purchased number. Send a test SMS and make a test call to ensure it works properly.
